[Wrf-users] PhD and project position related to WRF at NIT Rourkela (Odisha) India

Dear Members:

        There is an approved project position (JRF) available to work and
possibility of earning PhD from National Institute of Technology Rourkela,
Odisha India. The project is about urbanization and its impact on city
environment of Indian region. The candidate would be working partly on
remote sensing and GIS related analysis and party on numerical modelling
using WRF model. In view of this the candidate should have exposure to some
or all of the tools including FORTRAN/C programming, MATLAB, ERDAS/ARC-GIS,
numerical models like WRF, GRADS/NCL.

*Educational qualification*: MSc/MSc(Tech)/MTech in Atmospheric
Science/Meteorology/Remote Sensing and GIS/Physics/Mathematics. The
perspective candidate having MSc/MSc(Tech) degree should have a good
academic record and preferably GATE/NET qualified.

*Project duration*: Three years

*Place of work*: Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, National
Institute of Technology, Rourkela, Odisha, India

*NOTE*: There is a chance that your CV may also be considered for another
possible position as well. The second position is similar but the funding
source is different and is yet to be approved formally. In the second
project the skills and qualifications required are same but the topic is
different. In both of the projects, you have a fair chance to earn PhD.
