[Wrf-users] ndown for a third domain

Hi Xianxiang,

that shouldn’t be a problem. My approach is to run real.exe for all nests at the same time, then running wrf.exe for the outermost domain followed by ndown.exe. After downscaling d01 to d02, the middle domain d02 takes the role of d01, i.e. you rename wrfinput_d02 to wrfinput_d01 etc and shift all the max_dom entries in namelist.input - see attached examples. Also, you need to relabel the wrfinput_d0? files etc - d03 becomes d02 in the 2nd nesting step etc.
