Full time position working 37 hours per week. Fixed term post for 18 months
Reference number: 012955
Deadline: 27 November 2015
Research on atmospheric dynamics and air quality within the Centre includes modelling analysis of atmospheric processes affecting local to regional air quality, its impacts on health and interaction with meteorology and climate. We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated scientist to contribute to ongoing national and international projects on air quality forecasting and analysis of processes influencing air quality, exposure and atmospheric composition on city to regional scales. You must have a good first degree in a relevant subject and a PhD in a topic related to atmospheric process modelling with in depth understanding of boundary layer physics and dynamics and transformation processes affecting atmospheric composition. It will be essential that you have strong experience in the development and use of advanced atmospheric models in combination with observations to examine the underlying mechanisms and processes responsible for variation in air quality. You must also have excellent skills in writing and speaking English and a good track record of publishing papers in high quality journals.
