Hi Carlos,
Thank you so much for your valuable instruction.
Could you please share any sample GRADS script to extract Temperature, Relative Humidity and Wind Speed values at a specified location (lat & lon) in ASCII/TXT format based on Lambert Projection system.
Kind regards,
Imran

Hi Hossain,
The problem should be in the descriptor file (mer.ctl), you should make one to read the Lambert coordinates. Take a look at the end of this page http://www.iges.org/grads/gadoc/SDFdescriptorfile.html
And also, the Lambert projection it's better for mid latitude places as Australia, and Mercator it's better for places around the equator. So you should keep trying to use LCC for modeling.

Dear WRF Users,
Good day!
I am getting a problem regarding WRF map projection. My study area is Melbourne, Australia. I have run a test simulation for 24 hours using Lambert projection. After run ARWpost.exe, I have tried to extract Temperature values for two specified locations. But I am getting only words '" interpolation......interpolation...so on" into the output text files. Also, I have tried to extract the output in different way, but there are lot of missing values. Please find the Namelist.wps, Namelist.ARWpost_lambert, GRADS script (valueT2C.gs) and two output text files 'Ambagan_lambert.txt & Bari_lambert.txt' file for detail information.
Again I have run same simulation using Mercator Projection. This time I am getting the output results correctly. Please find the Namelist.ARWpost_mercator and two output text file 'Ambagan_mercator.txt & Bari_mercator.txt' file for detail information.
Could you tell me please what is the problem here.
Is Mercator projection is more efficient for small area projection around mid-latitude zone?
Is there any option to use Mercator Projection for Melbourne or Australia?
Ardently looking forward to your reply with guidance.
Kind regards,
Hossain
