[Wrf-users] Same WRF version on different compilers

Hello,

I have a question related to WRF compilation using different versions.
I have compiled WRF3.5 on a our local HPC and ran WPS using a set of compilers (mpich and netcdf-intel) . When I copy met_em* files to another HPC system (DOE), and run real and wrf.exe with different set of compilers for wrf35, my simulations stop after running/simulating around 1-1.5 hours.
Occasionally it gives signal 9 or signal 11 errors. I have seen these errors keep changing with different runs and are not consistent….

However, if I run wrf.exe locally on our HPC machines on the same set of compilers that did preprocessing, they run without a problem (I usually run with around 64 processors locally). My reason of transferring it DOE machines is to run on high number of processors, eg. 512 or 1024 cores. However this issue is during scaling, where I run with same number of cores as in locally.

Please advise how can I resolve this… Is it the compeer issue? Do I need to compile WPS and WRF on a system where I perform all the tasks? Are met_em* files portable for different set of compilers?

thanks,
Ashish
