[Wrf-users] Grell 3-D Subgrid Cloud Output

I'm trying to run the new Grell 3-D cumulus scheme with sub-grid cloud
information output (WRF version 3.4). Setting "cu_diag" to 1 in the
namelist should output the sub-grid cloud information (as seen by this
statement in the registry):
package g3tave cu_diag==1 -
state:GD_CLOUD,GD_CLOUD2,GD_CLDFR,GD_CLOUD_A,GD_CLOUD_B,GD_CLOUD2_A,GD_CLOUD2_B,kbcon_deep,ktop_deep,k22_deep
However, that alone did not produce output, so I have forced the model to
output the variables using the "iofields_filename" and associated text file
to output these variables. The variables appear in the wrfout files,
however they contain null (zero) values even after model spin-up.
Has anyone else encountered or solved this problem? My namelist.input is
