[Wrf-users] U10 and V10 estimation in the model???

Hello,

I'm trying to use the wrf-output winds as input for a wave model and I'd
like to know exactly what the wrf-output variables U10 and V10, means.

In principle, they are the winds at 10meters (unstaggered) but:

- Is it the surface winds (as the first pressure level winds)
201300 or 200100 Pa?

- or is there a previous height interpolation to get exactly
the 10m winds?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Elena
