Hi Jian Li,
The answer depends on the target purpose and the required accuracy.
>From the programming point of view, you can certainly interpolate any
variable. However, from the physical point of view, the atmosphere
below several hundreds meters might be heavily affected by the
boundary layer. Imagine, for example, a sand bowl in desert at 4 PM:
the shadowed side might be cooler, than the light side by tens of
degrees, producing strong local gradients completely different from
those interpolated. The same might apply to the dense urbanized
territory, for example.
