  Software to convert from WMO BUFR to little_r format is available at the UCAR DSS website.  For upper air data go to http://dss.ucar.edu/datasets/ds351.0/software/.  Download the file "BUFRdecode_ADPuprair_littlr.tar".  For surface data go to http://dss.ucar.edu/datasets/ds461.0/software/.  Download the file " BUFRdecode_ADPsfcair_littlr.tar".  There are multiple steps that are required to get the BUFR formatted surface and upper air files into a combined little_r formatted file.  I've modified the implementation slightly and added "make" files to replace the install scripts.  I'd be willing to share it with you if you like.  Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi All,

I am trying to run WRF with observation nudge.  The latest NCEP ADP
upper air and surface data set are in WMO BUFR format.  Is there a tool
that converts WMO BUFR format into little_r format publically available?
Or does anyone have it and willing to share?  Any information is
appreciated.
