[Wrf-users] anyone use netCDF-4 with WRF yet?

Howdy all!

Has anyone out there converted WRF to use netCDF-4?

NetCDF-4 has a new parallel I/O feature. (It uses HDF5 parallel I/O
through the netCDF API.) It also has compression, endian control, and
chunking, all of which have impacts on performance.

Does it seem that this will require a new directory under external? Or
should this be handled in the existing io_netcdf directory?

Any comments welcome...
