A postdoctoral position in atmospheric chemistry modeling is available in
the Atmospheric Sciences and Global Change Division at Pacific Northwest
National Laboratory. The successful candidate will contribute to the
development of the chemistry version of the Weather Research and Forecasting
(WRF) model, conduct modeling studies of particulate evolution and aerosol
direct and indirect forcing, and interpret model predictions using a wide
range surface, aircraft, and satellite measurements.
 
Candidates must have received a PhD in atmospheric sciences, chemical
engineering, or a related field within the past five years from an
accredited college or university. Experience in Fortran and parallel
processing, modeling of trace gas and aerosol chemistry, and evaluating
Eulerian models with field measurements is required. The applicant will be
expected to publish peer-reviewed journal articles and effectively
communicate with a wide range of scientists that include chemists,
meteorologists, and statisticians.
