[Wrf-users] output tool

Dear WRF developers and users,

Maybe somebody did - how can I do special output for some variable at 
some sparse time moments, i.e. not with standard output_start, _end and 
interval parameters, but with an array of moments when I need output. 
Such option is very useful when one needs to compare model data with 
observation data at given moments.
In addition a similar tool may be applied for a spatial grid also. In 
this case WRF could output a selected variable only at given grid boxes. 
The state of the art mesoscale model MESO-NH (from Meteo France) has 
such tool. I'd like to suggest to WRF developers to implement such tool 
in future WRF releases. Though maybe some user implemented already?

Any comments or ideas?
