Dear members of the ISSE and TIIMES communities:


As you may have heard, the Board of Trustees provided a solid 
endorsement of the plan to create ISP (Integrated Science Program) as a 
partner to ASP.  This was followed by a positive review by NSF program 
mangers.   I attach the final description of the ISP plan as modified by 
suggestions from the Board and NSF.  It is now our plan to move forward 
with the development of the ISP by seeking a Director.  This will be an 
internal search with the objective of naming the Director by early March 
(the composition of the search committee is given below).


This meeting is designed to provide time in case you have any questions 
about the search or the next steps in the process.  The plans to form 
ISP will be announced UCAR-wide Wednesday at the end of the day. 


I look forward to meeting with you or hearing any questions that you 
might have.
