Hi tgcmgroup:
In case you are not already aware, dataproc will be shut down on Monday,
to be replaced with "tempest" -- a new larger (128 processor) SGI machine.
This is essentially an upgrade from dataproc. Read the dailyb for more
information.
All your /home and /ptmp files will be transferred to tempest. The /fis
and /hao disks will be accessible. Passwords and logins are all the same
as dataproc. Everything *should* work as on dataproc if you change "dataproc"
to "tempest" in scripts, aliases, input files, any place it occurs.
They are putting IDL 6.1 on tempest, so you will benefit from putting
the following line in your .cshrc file on tempest:
source /usr/local/idl/idl_6.1/bin/idl_setup
I have noticed some possible problems with tgcmproc_idl under IDL 6.1
(which Vic has just intalled at hao), but they are not fatal, and I
will try to fix them soon..
