Hi tgcmgroup:

We are pleased to announce the release of a new version of
the TGCM IDL processor, tgcmproc_idl. Tom Freestone has improved
many aspects of the code, and added two major features:

1 Ut vs zp/height contours at selected locations
2 Vector arrow plotting over all map projections

To use this code at HAO, make sure the following is in your
.cshrc file:

setenv TGCMROOT /home/tgcm
set path = ($path $TGCMROOT/bin)

The name of the command is tgcmproc_idl (/home/tgcm/bin/tgcmproc_idl).
By using the tgcmproc_idl command, you are getting the latest
version (2.6). If you need to use the earlier version, the command
tgcmproc2.5_idl is also available.

To use the application on SCD machines dave, blackforest, or dataproc,
put the following in your .cshrc file (on each machine):

setenv TGCMROOT /fis/hao/tgcm
set path = ($path $TGCMROOT/bin)

The command name is the same as at HAO (tgcmproc_idl). You should
be getting automatic X-forwarding through roy.ucar.edu, so no need
to setenv DISPLAY. (TGCMROOT = /fs/projects/tgcm is no longer valid)

Many thanks to Tom -- he has put a lot of time into this code,
and it is looking good! Please report any problems or suggestions
to freeston at ucar.edu, foster at ucar.edu, or tgcmgroup at ucar.edu.
