Hi,
Meeting 2:30 - RAP Conference room.
This Thursday, the R-users group will meet to discuss using CVS with a R
users context. (CVS is a version control system, used to track and
document changes in files.) I would say the key points of the meeting are as
follows.
1. Deirdre Garvey will discuss the basics of using cvs to share code
and do other neat things. Within RAP, cvs is being used to work on the
verification library. Deirdre can also talk about how (at least within
RAP) this permits certain libraries to be updated every night. EVEN IF YOU
DON'T PLAN ON WORKING LIBRARIES, DEIRDRE'S INFORMATION ON CVS IS USEFUL
FOR PROTECTING PERSONAL WORK AS WELL AS SHARING CODE.
2. I will talk briefly about how to build or modify a R library. The
from. I will use the verification library as an illustration. R libraries
provide a nice way to document and share functions. I will show where
libraries can be placed so that they can be jointly used.
The meeting will be kept to less than an hour. If this agenda seems
vague and you are unclear if this meeting would be useful, feel free to
contact me with questions.
Thanks,
Matt
