<p>Dear colleagues,</p>
<p>We’re writing to make you aware of a small NCAR funding
opportunity for diversity, equity and inclusion-related education
and outreach activities. We invite submissions from both existing
programs/activities that we have previously funded, as well as new
ideas. <br>
</p>
<p>Activities should both:</p>
<ol>
<li>Align with the strategic goals and initiatives for NCAR
Education, Engagement, and Early Career Development (EdEC)
outlined in the <a moz-do-not-send="true"
href="https://ncar.ucar.edu/sites/default/files/documents/related-links/2018-05/NCAR%20EO%20Strategic%20Plan%20Final.pdf">NCAR
E&O Strategic Plan</a>.<br>
<br>
</li>
<li>Strengthen NCAR’s commitment to diversity, equity and
inclusion in education-related work with an emphasis on
activities and training that support NCAR’s capabilities and
skills in education and engagement with external partners, for
example, students and faculty at MSIs, minority staff at
majority schools, or with marginalized communities.<br>
</li>
</ol>
<p>We encourage the development of new activities that build upon
and reinforce ongoing educational initiatives. The available
funding totals $70,000, with no specific upper limit set for
individual requests.</p>

<p>Renewal funding will only require a short paragraph and a
detailed budget request.</p>
<p>For new ideas we ask for:<br>
</p>
<ol type="a">
<li>A description of the proposed activity, including details
about the staff involved and the target audience.</li>
<li>A plan for evaluating the impact of the activity, along with
an explanation of how it aligns with the NCAR E&O Strategic
Plan.</li>
<li>A detailed budget outlining expenses. If applicable, please
also indicate any co-funding provided by the lab.<br>
</li>

NCAR EdEC Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Proposal Guidance </a><br>

<p>The application deadline is Friday, October 6, 2023, and funding
awards will be announced by November 1. All awarded funds must be
utilized by March 31, 2025.</p>
