[ncl-talk] contour lines to shapefile

Hello,

I have cloud mask data in the form of binary 0 and 1 on a lat/lon grid.
I'm able to plot these values using gsn_csm_contour_map (attached figure
and plotting code).
I would like to expand the masks intersected by the four circular blue
markers shown in the figure.
However, I don't have a shapefile for the masks, and I'm wondering if there
is any way to
(a) extract a shapefile from contour masks
(b) perform the above manipulation without a shapefile
