[ncl-talk] from ncl to python (masking data with shapefile_mask_data func)

Dear ncl-experts
   I have a ncl script which is using the function 'shapefile_mask_data' to mask the bathymetry data according to the outlines of a shapefile

   I need to convert this script to python. Is it possible to use this masking utility in python? Or some alternative?
