[ncl-talk] Question regarding wavenumber-frequency spectrum

 Hi all
I have couple of queries regarding wavenumber-freqency plots using "
*mjo_wavenum_freq_season*" which are mentioned below:
1. I saw the function calculates wavenumber and frequency. As per my
knowledge, positive frequency correspnds to easward propogating waves while
negative frequency associated with westward waves. But what about the
wavenumber? I mean what the negative wavenumber physically mean? will you
please comment?
2. Are both of these functions "*mjo_wavenum_freq_season*" and "
*mjo_wavenum_freq_season_plot*" only applicable for zonal waves? I am
interested in the meridional waves. I mean I need the wavenumber-freqency
spectra in meriodional direction. How to implement that?
Any sort of suggestion will be highly appreciated.
Thanking you,

Best
Suman
