[ncl-install] Error on Mac install

I apologize if this is a trivial problem, but I was not able to search the
list archives -- the link did not work for me.

I just tried to install NCL on my Mac, but get the following error when I
try to run it:
ncl -V
dyld: Library not loaded: /usr/local/lib/libgfortran.4.dylib
  Referenced from: /usr/local/bin/ncl
  Reason: image not found
Abort trap: 6

My mac is running Mojave, version 10.14.6 (18G1012).
gcc version:
Configured with: --prefix=/Library/Developer/CommandLineTools/usr
--with-gxx-include-dir=/Library/Developer/CommandLineTools/SDKs/MacOSX10.14.sdk/usr/include/c++/4.2.1
Apple LLVM version 10.0.1 (clang-1001.0.46.4)
Target: x86_64-apple-darwin18.7.0
Thread model: posix
InstalledDir: /Library/Developer/CommandLineTools/usr/bin

This is the version of the compiled binaries that I downloaded:
ncl_ncarg-6.6.2-MacOS_10.14_64bit_nodap_gnu730
I copied the relevant files to my /usr/local folders, which are in the path.
