Hi Bashiru,
Were Xcode and XQuartz reinstalled after formatting your computer? This is an odd problem, I’m not sure what could cause conda/NCL to work prior to reformatting, but not after…
If the conda installation is causing too many issues and you need NCL to work soon, you could perhaps try installing one of the binary releases <https://www.earthsystemgrid.org/dataset/ncl.640.html> from our website (see documentation <http://ncl.ucar.edu/Download/>).
