[ncl-install] ncl binaries

Good day,

I have downloaded the ncl_ncarg-6.0.0.Linux_SUSE_ia64_nodap_gcc412.tar.gz binary for my openSUSE machine:
x86_64 and gcc (SUSE Linux) 4.5.1 20101208.

Once I have the file untarred and /usr/local/lib and /usr/local/bin directories updated I get (and many more);
-rwxr-xr-x 1 8338 11992 55831656 May 27 21:36 ncl
-rwxr-xr-x 1 8338 11992    31854 May 27 21:36 ng4ex

I try to run the command ng4ex gsun01n - I then get the error message:
/usr/local/bin/ncargpath: Exec format error. Binary file not executable.
However, if I locate ncargpath, I get:
-rwxr-xr-x 1 8338 11992 27197 May 25 16:20 ncargpath

The NCL executable also does not seem to be working. The command /usr/local/bin/ncl gives me:
-bash: /usr/local/bin/ncl: cannot execute binary file

Any guidance to addressing these errors will be appreciated.
