[ncl-install] NCAR Graphics (Version 5.0.0) Installation Problem

Lingyan,
It sounds like the HDF include files were not installed in an "hdf" subdirectory as instructed in the NCL installation home page. Please see:
http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/Download/build_from_src.shtml#HDF-4
and pay special attention to the "--includedir" option that is required.
FYI: we will be releasing V5.1.0 in 1 or 2 weeks, which has several new features (http://www.ncl.ucar.edu/future_release.shtml).
