  Initial Request

John,

In my understanding, regrid_data_plane takes grib file as input, regrid
it and
output NETCDF file.
I'd like to know if it can be used for regriding a NetCDF file?
In other words, both input and output files are NetCDF format.

Thanks!

Binbin

Binbin,

Yes, regrid_data_plane can read multiple input file types, including
GRIB1,
GRIB2, and NetCDF files.

In general, whenever MET can read a gridded data file in one spot, it
should be able to read all supported file types.

So as long as your NetCDF file can be read by one of the MET tools, it
should be able to be read by all of them (in general). Here's an
example of
running regrid_data_plane in this way:

regrid_data_plane out/pcp_combine/sample_fcst_12L_2005080712V_12A.nc
G130
regrid.nc -field 'name="APCP_12"; level="(*,*)";'

Note that the destination grid can be specified in multiple ways...
"to_grid" defines the output grid as a named grid, the path to a
gridded
data file, or an explicit grid specification string (required).

Thanks,
John

John,

I tested it, yes, it works.

Thanks!
