Initial Request
----------------------------------------------------------------
Hi George,
Following up on the METplus PointStat case we discussed: I've placed the
configs, log and data file on
https://ftp.emc.ncep.noaa.gov/mmb/precip/METplus.question/20190913/
The log file has this err msg:
09/12 23:21:05.172 metplus.PointStat (point_stat_wrapper.py:194) ERROR:
Could not find observation file in
/gpfs/dell2/emc/verification/noscrub/Ying.Lin/gauge_nc matching template
good-usa-dlyprcp-{valid?fmt=%Y%m%d}.nc
Yesterday I thought maybe it was because the
good-usa-dlyprcp-yyyymmdd.nc files do not have valid date info (per
ncdump), but looks like METplus is searching by file name template, so
it should have found good-usa-dlyprcp-20190910.nc.
Here's the gauge files on netcdf:
v72a1 $ pwd
/gpfs/dell2/emc/verification/noscrub/Ying.Lin/gauge_nc
v72a1 $ ls -l good*2019091*.nc
-rw-r--r-- 1 Ying.Lin emcverf 416052 Sep 11 10:20
good-usa-dlyprcp-20190910.nc
-rw-r--r-- 1 Ying.Lin emcverf 693412 Sep 12 10:20
good-usa-dlyprcp-20190911.nc
-rw-r--r-- 1 Ying.Lin emcverf 642436 Sep 13 10:20
good-usa-dlyprcp-20190912.nc
Also I thought maybe it was because the *dlyprcp-20190910.nc file was
shorter than the others. Tried a run for 20190911, got the same err msg.
Thank you again for all the METplus discussions this week during your
NCWCP visit, it was tremendously helpful.
Ying

Hi Ying,
Were you able to resolve this issue? The METplus 3.0-beta1 release
will
output more helpful logs to help debug. Please let me know if it is
still
not working and I will take another look.

Hi George, yes this has been resolved - with the addition of
OBS_POINT_STAT_FILE_WINDOW_BEGIN[END]. Please go ahead and close this
