----------------------------------------------------------------
  Initial Request
----------------------------------------------------------------

To Whom It May Concern:

I am trying to produce a time series with lines of model 1, model 2, model
3, and obs 1, e.g., plot_20190425_174700.

The x-axis labeling is not ideal, the length is too long so it can only fit
a few labels. I notice in the xml it is

 <indep equalize="false" name="fcst_valid_beg">
            <val label="2018-08-01 00:00:00" plot_val="">2018-08-01
00:00:00</val>
            <val label="2018-08-01 01:00:00" plot_val="">2018-08-01
01:00:00</val>
            <val label="2018-08-01 02:00:00" plot_val="">2018-08-01
02:00:00</val>
            <val label="2018-08-01 03:00:00" plot_val="">2018-08-01
03:00:00</val>
            <val label="2018-08-01 04:00:00" plot_val="">2018-08-01
04:00:00</val>
 ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

I can not find a place to change the format of x-axis label (such as user
define "Legend Text") in METviewer. My question is how to update the plot
labels? e.g., 08/01, 08/02,.... I have month long so hours is not so
critical to me) In Metviewer or need to edit XML and re-load the new one.

Thank you for your help.

Ho-Chun,

We don't have a special formatting for the independent variables
labels.
The easiest way to do this would be to download XML, change the labels
in the file and upload the fixed XML to the GUI or use METviewer batch
engine.

Hi, Tatiana:

Okay, I try to put it perpendicular to the axis and increase the
frequency
to make it better. In the future will try to edit the xml.

This is a separate question, should I put it to different ticket?
please
advise.

The legend box seems not moving horizontally, case # 20190501_121444.
I
try 0, 0.5 and 1 for the box position option 1. and it stay at the
middle
of the plot.

Ho-Chun,

For the legend position we use hard-coded value "bottom" that places
the legend in the center independently from x value.
I was able to move the legend down under the x-axis labels. I adjusted
bottom margin (Formatting->margins->1st value) to 15 and legen's y
value of the box position to -.7. This is the result:
20190501_150348.

I rerun this case with margin and box position adjustments. The legend
is on the bottom now.
