Hi John.
Thank you for your response soon.
I have given up the Config file of SATOB type and regarded it as a
separate ADPUPA type to process. So this part can pass up to now. But
I will solve it with your help in the future.
I am still puzzled by the Config file of 6-hour accumulated
precipitation. After executing pcp_combine command with subtract
subcommand, it always pops up the message like the below whatever I
try to set key word Level in the corresponding to it:
uxin at cheyenne4:/glade/work/yuxin/met/MET-
result/fcst/wrfprd/radar_result_1/2016061518> point_stat
wrfrain_d01_acc_6hr.2016061606 /glade/work/yuxin/met/MET-
result/point_obs/netcdf/synop2016061606.nc
/glade/work/yuxin/met/met7.0/config/PointStatConfig_acc6hr -v 2
DEBUG 1: Default Config File:
/glade/p/ral/jntp/MET/MET_releases/7.0/share/met/config/PointStatConfig_default
DEBUG 1: User Config File:
/glade/work/yuxin/met/met7.0/config/PointStatConfig_acc6hr
ERROR :
ERROR : VarInfo::set_level_info_grib() - failed to parse level string
'APCP_06'
So I don't know why my setting level_info_grib() is wrong, and I also
check my NETCDF format observation file by ncdump command. I think the
key words are the same, but it can not work.
Please check my files attached.
Regards,
Yu

Hi Yu.
It sounds like you're looking for some clarification on the error
you're getting with pcp_combine.
Could you please send the pcp_combine command that you are running so
that I can try to reproduce the error? I have access to Cheyenne, so
if you could please tell me the location of the files that you are
using with pcp_combine, I would appreciate it.
I'm only in the office for another hour or so and then I am out for
the rest of the week, so if you could please send this information as
soon as possible, I will try to help you before I leave.
Thanks!
Julie

Actually, perhaps I misunderstood. It looks like you are receiving
that error with point_stat and not pcp_combine. On cheyenne, I copied
over the files and ran your command and I do not see the same
behavior. Below are the commands I executed and the resulting output.
Please check the module that you are loading and see if it is the same
as what I have. Please try rerunning and let me know if you still get
the error.
Thanks!

HI Julie,
Thank you for your answer soon.
Nomatter how I try the point_stat command like what I told you before,
it can not work. But just now, I set the controlling like this, it can
work now.
fcst = {
censor_thresh = [];
censor_val = [];
cnt_thresh = [ NA ];
cnt_logic = UNION;
wind_thresh = [ NA ];
wind_logic = UNION;
eclv_points = 0.05;
field = [
{
name = "APCP_06";
level = [ "A06" ];
cat_thresh = [ >=0.1, >=2.5,>=3.8, >=5.0, >=7.5,>=10.0,>=15.0,
>=20.0, >=40.0 ];
}
];
}
//obs = fcst;
obs = {
message_type = [ "ADPSFC" ];
field = [
{
name = "APCP";
level = [ "A06" ];
cat_thresh = [ >=0.1, >=2.5,>=3.8, >=5.0, >=7.5,>=10.0,>=15.0,
>=20.0, >=40.0 ];
}
];
}
I wonder why the result is different underlying the same command and
test data.
Thank you so much. and I have some questions about SATOB test to ask
you in another email.
Byebye
Best regards,
Yu

Hi Yu.
It looks like I had grabbed the file that you had already modified,
changing the name from
name = "APCP";
to
name = "APCP_06";
which explains why it worked for me.
APCP_06 is indeed the name in the file, so it needs to match in your
config
file. Once you made that change, MET was able to find that field.
You mentioned that you had some questions about SATOB to ask in
another
email. Please submit those questions in a new email to
met_help at ucar.edu
so that whomever is in the office can help. I am about to leave for
the
rest of the week, so if you send it to my email address, you will not
receive a prompt response.
Thanks,
Julie
