Hi, there,

Quick question regarding .stat files that come out of MET.  Now with VSDB
we usually concatenate each file for each hourly cycle into a daily file
(verification time) that we used for FVS and also for METViewer.  I am
assuming that if we concatenate .stat files into one daily file containing
all hours of verification that METViewer will have no problem recognizing
the statistics?  This is probably a simple question, and I'm assuming the
answer is yes, but I just wanted to verify (it's what I do of course) that
this is OK for .stat files.

Perry (and Tatiana),

The only potential problem caused by concatenating multiple .stat
files
together would be effectively inserting header rows into the middle of
the
file.  Presumably, you will be passing this concatenated output to
either
the STAT-Analysis tool or loading it into METViewer.

I ran a little test to be sure... but STAT-Analysis is smart enough to
ignore header lines that appear in the middle of the file.  So that's
not a
problem.

I assume that this wouldn't cause a problem for METViewer either, but
I'm
cc'ing Tatiana on this email for her to verify that.

Hi, John,

Thanks for letting me know.  Otherwise we will have a gigantic library
of
.stat files that I would think would be better organized if they were
in
one file.  If this causes problems then I won't do it.

METViewer loading module ignores all  "header" lines in the data file.
So including these lines in a file should not cause any loading
issues.

"header" line  -  a line that is empty or starts with a word
"VERSION".
