[Met_help] [rt.rap.ucar.edu #81290] History for grid not supported

Hi,

I am trying to use MET6 to read and plot NCEP climate model (CFS) and CDAS
outputs. I am getting the error message : ERROR  : gds_to_order() -> Grid
type 4 not currently supported

Files are located under
: /scratch4/NCEPDEV/global/noscrub/Partha.Bhattacharjee/MET6/Climate_test

I was trying to see surface variables like surface Temp for quick check.
Any help on this is appreciated.

Hi Partha.

I took a look and see that this data is on a Gaussian grid.  Here is
some
output from "wgrib -V":

  gaussian: lat  88.542000 to -88.542000
            long 0.000000 to -1.875000 by 1.875000, (192 x 94) scan 0
mode
128 bdsgrid 1

METv6.0 does not currently support Gaussian grids, however we are
planning
on adding support for Gaussian grids in METv6.1.
