Dear MET_HELP,

I have successfully run mtd tool (METv5.1) in our centre. Now my
question regarding space time object plot, I am unable to plot it, can
you help me in plotting space time object plot?

Hello Harvir,

Unfortunately, we don't have any plotting tools available to provide
to
you.  We have created some plots using internal development code, but
we
are not able to support it for community use at this point.

I wish that I could point you to an example of plotting the output of
MODE
time domain using NCL or VAPOR (http://www.vapor.ucar.edu/
<http://www.vapor.ucar.edu/%29.>) but unfortunately no such script
exists
yet.

Sorry I don't have a better answer for you.  We will be applying MTD
to a
few projects in the coming months and will likely need a way to
visualize
the output.  We'll plan to post any plotting scripts we develop to the
MET
website.

Can anyone give me some idea, to plot MTD 3D objects in R or some
others tools as well. I have seen some plots ( i.e. 3D Objects and
Drought Objects, World wide Drought Index which spans several decades)
 in MET Tutorial Presentations: Winter 2015, Object-Based
Verification.

I will really appreciate if anyone can help me for the same.

Harvir,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this.  The MTD plots
you've
seen in the past ( i.e. 3D Objects and Drought Objects, World wide
Drought
Index which spans several decades)  were generated using some custom
plotting code in the DTC.  Unfortunately, that code is not in a
releasable
format, and it would take several weeks of development for us to be
able to
share it.  Likewise, we currently have no examples of plotting the MTD
output with scripting languages like NCL or Vapor.  And we have
extremely
limited funding for MET support this year.  So we're not able to fund
this
type of work at this time.

If you do find a nice way of plotting the output, we'd be happy to
post
your script to the MET website to share with other users.  Also, we'll
lobby to include funding for next year to provide better graphics
support
for the MTD tool.
