Initial Request
----------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Met-helpdesk,
I am trying to use the pre-installed MET on jet at:
/lfs2/projects/dtc-hurr/MET/MET_releases/met-5.0/bin/
and set the environment variable:
LD_LIBRARY_PATH "/lfs2/projects/dtc-hurr/MET/MET_releases/external_libs/lib"
I was getting error message:
>tc_dland
>tc_dland: error while loading shared libraries: libifport.so.5: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory
Could you let me know what steps I missed, do I need load other modules?
Thanks.

Zhan,
You'll need to load the intel module prior to set up the dynamic
linking
for that version of MET:
module load intel
/lfs2/projects/dtc-hurr/MET/MET_releases/met-5.0/bin/tc_dland
That should resolve the issue. You could even put that line in your
~/.cshrc file to load the intel module whenever you log on.
Thanks for letting us know about this. I'll update the info on the
MET
website:
http://www.dtcenter.org/met/users/downloads/index.php

John,
Thanks for your prompt reply. Here is what I found. I need to set the
environment variable "LD_LIBRARY_PATH" first, before
loading the intel module. The command will fail if I switch the order:
setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH
"/lfs2/projects/dtc-hurr/MET/MET_releases/external_libs/lib"
module load intel/12.1.4
Thanks.
