Initial Request

Dear methelp,
I want to use MET to do point_stat time series analysis. However, as I set frames_per_outfile=24 in WRF namelist.input, my WRF outputs are packed every 24 hrs in a file. The UPP only can process the WRF outputs with incrementhr=24, so if I use ./point_stat in MET, I only can get files like .000, .024, .048, and etc. But I hope to have hourly or 3-hourly bias analysis. Would you mind giving me some advice?
Thanks a lot,
Best,
Yue

Yue,
Does the .024 file only contain output for the 24-hour forecast file?
Or
does it contains output for hours 00, 01, 02, ..., 24? You can use
the
wgrib command to dump out the contents of the .024 GRIB file and see
what's in it.
If you only have output for the 24-hour forecast, then no, you don't
have
enough data to verify your data hourly or 3-hourly. If your GRIB
files do
contain hourly or 3-hourly output, then yes, you can verify the data
the
way you'd like.
Please take a look and let me.
Thanks,
