I am going to briefing some mode data and I want to make sure I am understanding mode postscript output. On the cluster object information page, the FCST INT90 is the 90% of the forecast precipitation amount for the object in kg/m2. In this case my object was defined as >100mm in 24hrs. Can I use the INT90 value as a proxy for 90% of maximum precip amount that fell within the object? If that isn't correct, what is this number meant to represent?

Bob,
I've attached two files to this email - a png image showing MODE
objects from the test script and the corresponding MODE object ascii
output file.
It sounds like your understanding of FCST INT90 and OBS INT90 is
correct. They represent the 90th percentile of the raw data values
within those objects.
In the image I sent, there are 2 cluster object pairs, a red one and a
green one. For the first one (red), FCST INT90 and OBS INT90 are
33.18 and 25.18, respectively. Those numbers are computed by
looking at the raw values at each grid point that is colored red. The
INT90 value is the 90th percentile of those raw precip values in
kg/m*m, which is just millimeters. The numbers you see there
are identical to the values listed in the INTENSITY_90 column of the
ascii output file on lines 16 (for the forecast = 33.17944) and 18
(for the observation = 25.17976).
