----------------------------------------------------------------
  Initial Request
----------------------------------------------------------------

I am running mode analysis on the attached file using the command line
below. I have been running the same command file on GFS and WRF files
(changing the model name) and I am getting expected data but when I run NAM
files, I am not getting any matching lines returned.

bin/mode_analysis -lookin out/mode/pressure -summary -single -simple -fcst
-model NAM -column centroid_lon -area_thresh_min 500 -fcst_lead 00
-fcst_valid_min 20101024_00 -fcst_valid_max 20101024_00 -fcst_init_hour 00
-out /sphome/craigr/flonnam00

bin/mode_analysis -lookin out/mode/pressure -summary -single -simple -obs
-model NAM -column centroid_lon -area_thresh_min 500 -fcst_lead 00
-fcst_valid_min 20101024_00 -fcst_valid_max 20101024_00 -fcst_init_hour 00
-out /sphome/craigr/olonnam00 -dump_row /sphome/craigr/olonnam00dump

What am I missing?

Thanks

Bob Craig

Bob,

I'm wondering if there's perhaps just something wrong with one of your
paths. I ran the jobs you sent on the MODE output file you sent, and
both
jobs matched 1 line in the MODE output file. Please see the attached
log
file.

John, doesn't seem to be a path issue. It is reading through 10000
plus lines but finding no hits. I moved the one file to a different
directory and again it read one file put no matching lines. When I
use WRF and AVN0P5 is works fine. Could this be a version issue?
You sent me the patches but I seemed to have misplaced the email.
Could you send them to me again and be sure to name as .txt file to
get past our big brother.

Thanks

Bob

Further information - When I place the NAM files into a subdirectory
by themselves, it still won't find any matching lines.
But, if I
delete "-model NAM" then it does find the proper lines.

Bob,

Ah, yes. That rings a bell. This came up when we were running the
GFS/NAM comparison. There's a silly bug in there where the STAT-
Analysis
tool reads "NAM" and interprets it as "NA", meaning "missing".

This is a known issue and is fixed in the latest set of patches:
   http://www.dtcenter.org/met/users/support/known_issues/METv3.0/index.php

Also, I believe I fixed this known issues website. When you try to
view
it using Internet Explorer, please let me know if it looks alright.

If you still can't access the patches from the web, let me know and
I'll
send them as an email attachment again.

Thanks,
John
