Initial Request
----------------------------------------------------------------
Hello,
I am having problems with my copygb.exe.
I am trying to regrid my observations (stage IV precip) to my model
grid (lcc).
I am doing
copygb.exe -xg"255 3 220 168 257300 -95660 8 -86000 9000 9000 0 64
60000 30000" ST4.2009091312.01h ST4.2009091312.01h_regrid
The output file is produced but it is empty. Do you know why I am
obtaining an empty output file? I have checked the input file with
wgrib and that looks fine.

Thomas,
You may notice that the look and feel of our MET-Help support emails
have changed. We've recently switched over to a new ticketing system
for providing support.
Regarding your question about copygb, let me point you to an example
of specifying a Lambert Conformal grid via copygb:
http://www.dtcenter.org/met/users/support/OnLinePractical/OnLinePractical_210/copygb/run3.php
It look like there's a small typo in your grid specification:
255 3 220 168 257300 -95660 8 -86000 9000 9000 0 64 60000 30000
You have the starting latitude listed as 257.300 but I'm guessing you
really want to be using 25.730. Please try this grid spec to see if
it works better:
255 3 220 168 25730 -95660 8 -86000 9000 9000 0 64 60000 30000
This defines a region over the southeastern United States. Hopefully
that's what you're looking for.
Thanks,
John Halley Gotway
