Dear Colleagues,
this e-mail to announce the organization of a summer school on
"Turbulence and fluctuations in the microphysics and dynamics of
clouds" that will take place from August 30 to September 10, 2010.
This school is intended for students, young researchers, and
experienced researchers willing to approach this field from different
viewpoints: lectures and tutorials will present a broad overview of
turbulent transport, atmospheric turbulence and convection, cloud
microphysics, applications in meteorology and climatology.
A list of topics and confirmed speakers can be obtained from the
webpage http://www.oca.eu/clouds-turbulence/
Location is the IGESA Center in the Island of Porquerolles, in the
South of France, in front of the city of Hyères.
The island is a part of the French National Park of Port-Cros.
Registration are opened on the website until May 14, 2010.
see http://www.oca.eu/clouds-turbulence/clouds_reg.html
An EUFAR (http://www.eufar.net/) training school* is associated to
the summer school, and should be held in Hyères from September 11
to September 18, 2010. It will provide participants with Training and
Education for Turbulence Research on Clouds via Airborne Data. You
are asked to communicate your intention to participate to this second
event while filling the participation form for the summer school. Due to
a limited number of places for this second event, a selection process
will be made after the registration deadline.
We kindly ask you to spread the information among possibly
interested people, and we apologize if you receive multiple messages.
Looking forward to meeting you in Porquerolles,
Jeremie Bec and Alessandra Lanotte
