Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Fellows

Dear colleagues,

We are writing to let you know about an exciting new program: the FAS
Research and Academic Exchange for Late-Stage Graduate Students and
Postdoctoral Fellows.

The FAS Research and Academic Exchange is intended to encourage early
career researchers with exceptional promise and a commitment to diversity
in their field to pursue a professorial career path at a top research
institution such as Harvard University.

We are currently fielding applications from advanced graduate students and
postdocs across the country. Acceptees will visit Harvard to present their
work, learn about related work in other research groups, and network with
faculty and peers. Participants will leave with broadened academic
perspectives and strengthened networks at a critical time in their careers;
Harvard faculty and students will gain access to top scholarship from other
institutions and meet potential future collaborators or colleagues.
Applications to visit this upcoming fall semester are open from now through
May 24, 2024.

This program is open to all late-stage graduate students and postdocs in
fields within the three FAS academic divisions. Visits to campus will
typically last from three to seven days, and each visitor will be paired
with a faculty host. (Applicants are encouraged to reach out to their
preferred faculty host, so you might receive an email or two from students
at other institutions.) All logistical arrangements (including confirmation
of faculty hosts) and expenses will be covered by our office.

Please see the attached documents for more information:

   - The advertising flier sent to other institutions
   - The Participant Guide for Visitors and Faculty Hosts
   - A sample visit itinerary

.

We hope that you will be as excited as we are to welcome FAS Research and
Academic Exchange participants into the Harvard community, and that you
consider participating in this program. Additionally, should you have a
postdoc position that you are looking to fill, we are happy to post it to
our program’s brand-new Twitter account, FAS Research and Academic Exchange
