The Scientific Appointment Modernization (SAM) Co-Design Team is hosting
three staff listening sessions to hear from staff during the Discovery
Phase of the SAM initiative. These sessions will provide an opportunity for
staff to share their experiences and perspectives regarding the current
scientific appointment system. The Co-Design Team will use input provided
at these sessions and the rest of the Discovery Phase to inform the initial
design process that will take place in the subsequent Ideation Phase of SAM.

The sessions will be held virtually using zoom on the following dates. Use

We invite all interested staff to attend at least one of these three
sessions, in which they will be assigned into breakout rooms for
small-group discussion based upon their job category. (Some categories will
be further broken down by career stage to optimize group sizes for open
discussion.)

These sessions are being planned by the SAM Stakeholder Engagement and
Communications (SEC) subteam of the Co-Design Team, which is made up of
scientists from across NCAR and UCP. The SAM SEC subteam looks forward to
engaging with staff in these sessions, which we think will be a valuable
component of the SAM process.

Please plan to attend one of these sessions for your valuable input to be
heard!
