sent to you.

All are welcome.

*Workshop Format**:*

Panelists will share their research statements ahead of time, and then
about how to approach writing a research statement with tips like:

   - Research the organization you're applying to, the department, and
staff (research, themes, focus/interests) as background
   - Write as though speaking to colleagues (not superiors)
   - Think fairly long-term and think big: what could you accomplish, given
   the time and resources?
   - Use occasional bold, adequate spacing between paragraphs, etc. to make
it easier to read and to help points stand out.

Two weeks later on April 1st, we will hold a *Writing Statement Feedback
Workshop. *Get yours written, get feedback, and see others' statements! *Take
advantage of this programming deadline to get a draft written. * We may not
have time before the next cycle of job postings (in the fall) to organize
another one of these sessions.

Let me know if you have any questions, and write away!

Thank you,

- Val Sloan
