Dear Geoscience Education Research Community,

I am currently accepting applications for future doctoral students who are
a seeking a PhD in educational and developmental research.

Doctoral students would become part of the the Science Learning Research
Group (SLRG), which investigates reasoning and critical-analytical thinking
about knowledge claims. Much of this research is situated within the
context of formal classroom settings and focuses on effective teaching
tools and strategies to support deep learning, particularly about
scientific topics that pose local, regional, and global challenges (e.g.,
causes of current climate change, availability of freshwater resources).

Please see attached for more information.

If you are interested in a Fall 2021 start date, please contact me at
lombard1 at umd.edu...preferably by November 2, 2020...the sooner the better!

Doug
