Hi Rebecca,
Would you mind passing this on to your graduate visitors and postdocs at
NCAR?
Are you interested in working with students? SOARS is a long running
internship program based at UCAR that is known for its multi-mentor model,
where each student has mentors for research and writing, a peer mentor, a
coach, and - where needed - a computing mentor. We are currently looking
for two computing mentors for proteges based at NCAR's Foothills Lab,
specifically to help with MATLAB coding. Computing mentors typically spend
1-2 hours a week with their protege as needed, often just for a few weeks
of the summer as they get started with their research. The program runs
until August 4. Being a computing mentor is a great way to get some
experience mentoring a student, without having to define a project or
support the research component!
If you are interested in volunteering or would like to learn more, please
contact me, rbatch at ucar.edu.
Thanks,
Bec
