Hi everyone,

Here is a funding opportunity that might be of interest. If you decide to
apply, you MUST apply through your program's administrative staff and not
directly to Loreal because the way the announcement reads, the funds would
be coming to NCAR.

Hi Paula,

Could you please forward the following announcement to all the NCAR
postdocs?

thanks!
Carolyn

L'Oreal has announced their annual call for Women in Science fellowship
appications. The national program recognizes and rewards the contributions
women make in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fields and
identifies exceptional women researchers committed to serving as role
models for younger generations. Five U.S.-based women will receive a
fellowship grant of $60,000 each for their postdoctoral research through
the program.

The 2016 L’Oréal USA For Women in Science fellowship application period
begins on November 30, 2015 and runs until February 5, 2016. Candidates
should have exceptional academic records and intellectual merit, clearly
articulated research proposals with the potential for scientific
advancement and outstanding letters of recommendation from advisors.
Applicants are also evaluated on their commitment to supporting women and
girls in STEM.

NCAR highly encourages our women postdocs to apply to this fellowship. Just
a reminder to all of you to not let imposter syndrome
<https://counseling.caltech.edu/general/InfoandResources/Impostor> get in
the way of applying. As postdocs working here, you are all doing
exceptional research - a L'Oreal fellowship is not only a significant grant
source to support your research, but is an excellent opportunity for
networking and sponsorship at the national level.

If you have any questions or concerns, would like another set of eyes on
your application materials, or just need some extra encouragement to apply,
please don't hesitate to contact Carolyn Brinkworth (carolyn at ucar.edu).
