FOSEP SEMINAR: 'A NEW MORAL VISION FOR HEALTH CARE'
With taxpayers funding approximately 50% of U.S. healthcare and needs
largely outweighing resources, funds and demands must be budgeted and
prioritized through the "rationing" of health care. This opens the door
to a largely unexplored ethical analysis of the macro-allocation of
health resources. But while medical ethics control the behavior of
health providers, public policy has its own independent ethical duties.
Co-Director of the Institute for Public Policy Studies at the University
of Denver and former Colorado governor, Richard Lamm, will address these
issues and outline conclusions that can be drawn from a new world of
health care that seeks to maximize collective welfare rather than
individual benefits.
This event is free and open to the public.
WHEN: Thursday,*May 12*from*5:30 to 6:30p.m.*(/Reception to follow/)
WHERE: CU Boulder Campus,*Cristol Chemistry, Room 142*
