[Go-essp-tech] Legacy ESG gateway/data node item for GO-ESSP-Tech / ESGF bi-weekly telco: Oct 16th, 8:00 PST?

Could we please add a discussion item on retiring the legacy ESG gateway, for the GO-ESSP-Tech/ESGF telecon?

We’re having difficulty maintaining our ancient legacy one-of-a-kind ESG data node, to the point where the data are getting out-of-sync with that served by our healthy ESGF P2P index and data nodes.  Our legacy node served nearly half of our download volume last month, and so we’d prefer a graceful transition, but in the very near future we will need to shut down our legacy data node.

Dear all,



We are going to restart the regular bi-weekly telcos starting next Tuesday, Oct 16th.  This slot will become a joint go-essp-tech / ESGF teleconference replacing separate telcos previously held on Tuesdays and Thursdays.



We are putting  together the Agenda on http://esgf.org/wiki/EsgfCmip5Meetings.  Please email me or Dean Williams with any programme suggestions.



Current items for the agenda are:



           • Discuss User Support through CMIP5 Help Desk or other means

           • Discuss ESGF Release Process

           • Discuss improving the ESGF public web site

           • Discuss methods to prevent bad publishing operations - like replacing files without republishing.
