Hi Estani,
That's great! I think there's quite a bit of noise in the figures as cmip-dn and cmip-dn1 have significantly different numbers even though they are right next to each other (and cmip-dn is a lot more busy than cmip-dn1), but as a metric for availability it's just what we want.

Hi,
I've just finished a view over the status of the nodes serving CMIP5
data: http://esgf.org/wiki/Cmip5Status/CMIP5NodeStatus
The script checks every half an hour the response time of the main
catalog page; no real "access" is being tested.
This means the node might be up an responsive, but still not being able
to serve CMIP5 data for any other particular reason (though this is
unlikely).
Even though It's very simple, I think it might be handy for many of us.
Hence this notification.
