Hi Gavin!

When trying to do an openId login from a datanode to a gateway which
http(s) service is not responding you will be presented with the
errorcode "ERROR: Unable to process claimed identity
'https://pcmdi3.llnl.gov/esgcet/myopenid/x". 

The cause of the error is that the openid service at the pcmdi3 is not
responding but the error message from the datanode will lead you to
think that your identity is no longer valid. 

It would be better it the system could separate the errors "OpenId
service unavailable" and "Invalid user identity"
