[Go-essp-tech] Forthcoming ESGF telcos

The main one is SGF-1874 where the faceted browse stops working
intermittently.  I thought I'd found a work-around but when the bug
resurfaced the fix didn't work so I re-opened the ticket.

I've attached a database dump and session serialisation to the ticket.

Not being able to harvest through a web proxy was the other problem but
it's minor in comparison.
