Hi Neill,

I was thinking of a different set of use cases. If you have a HTTP based interface to MyProxy the options for access are opened to support a much broader range of clients without the need for specialist client software.

One case might be users who want to regularly download data to their desktop machine or automate access via script. They don't want to go through a browser to do it and they don't want to install specialist clients either. I've found the Java MyProxy client easy to use and we have a Python based client here but even these are too inconvenient for some users. wget on the other hand is familiar to most and is readily available if not installed by default. It would provide an alternative convenient means of accessing credentials.

Cheers,
Phil
