[ESG-CET] ESG-CET status and schedules, no Thursday meetings until Jan. 7th

Hi ESG - We just wanted to update everyone on our status, and what  
expected ESG meeting schedules are going to be like over the holiday  
period. Last week we had a very useful small-group meeting of folks  
from BADC, PCMDI, and NCAR aimed at wrestling the difficult topic of  
versioning to the ground. We made good progress on this, along with a  
number of other topics. Time well spent.

Tomorrow we have our regular GO-ESSP meeting, with the topic being DRS  
and notification services. That'll be about it for meetings this year.  
We won't have any more regular Thursday meetings for the rest of this  
year, as we should have covered most of the burning topics in all the  
many other hours of meetings we've had over the last couple of weeks.  
And the holidays beckon ;-)

The next possible ESG meeting date is Thursday, January 7, 2010. We'll  
be in touch on that.

Thanks to everyone that provided input on the new ESG system in the  
context of our Alpha release. All of that material is in Jira now, and  
we've addressed some of it. We're planning one more paired Gateway/ 
DataNode release this week or early next - our Beta1 release. We'll  
expand the number of folks that we engage in reviewing the system, and  
use that to refine our priorities for what things we address as we  
move into the new year.
